A good rule of thumb: Never take a quiz if you think you're not going to like the results, but WAH!
Your results:
You are An Expendable Character (Redshirt)

Since your accomplishments are seldom noticed, and you are rarely thought of, you are expendable. That doesn't mean your job isn't important but if you were in Star Trek you would be killed off in the first episode you appeared in. ![]() |

It doesn't get much worse than that...
I'm still crushing on the Superbowl episode of "Grey's Anatomy". It's funny -- I started out not even liking this show last season and now I adore it. It's kind of like DS9; I couldn't stand it during the first season, but then later it grew to be my favorite Trek of them all. The thing I liked about Sunday's ep is that it showcased two of my favorite characters at their finest -- Bailey and Cristina. Also, Addison is growing on me.
I've never disliked Addison, mostly because I missed most of the first season so I never got attached to the idea of Meredith and Derek, but also because there's not much to dislike about Addison. She's competent, intelligent, dignified, trying to make amends for what she did to Derek, and she's way more patient than most women would be in this situation; I mean, what woman would put up with her husband so clearly mooning over another woman like that? Granted, Addison has her own affair to live down, so she has to give Derek some slack, but still...
I'd really like to know why Derek's staying with Addision though, if he's is so in love with Meredith. There are no kids to think about, Addison offered him divorce papers, and yet... There's the loyalty factor, but *she* betrayed him, and he left her. But when push came to shove, he couldn't end the marriage, and it's been painful for both of them to put their marriage back together, though in this past ep, it seems like they've made big strides -- Addison tying on his face mask, the little peck they exchanged in the hallway. The only thing I come up with is that Addison is familiar and safe and that they have a connection we haven't seen yet, and that Meredith, while intriguing, could be represent a risk he's just not willing to take; Addison provides a shield for Derek in that sense. By staying with Addison, hiding behind his marriage vows, he doesn't take the chance of being hurt again.
Or it could be something else entirely, but in the absence of information, this is the only thing I'm left with. There is no logical reason for Derek to still be with Addison if he's so gah-gah over Meredith. And I'm guessing that the conclusion of the Superbowl episode will force Derek's hand, that he will leave Addison for good and end up with Meredith. Or at least make a move in that direction. But even so, I'm still rooting for Addison to come out on top, because I always, always cheer for the underdog.
